About the Foundation

CWMF for the people of Nemaska

The Christopher Wapachee Memorial Foundation was born from the love and courage of Teddy and Marianne Wapachee, Christopher's devoted parents. Christopher passed away prematurely, leaving an entire community in mourning. In his memory, his parents chose to transform their grief into a foundation that would be a rich legacy to the community and allow its members to grow their capabilities and talents.

Every year, nearly forty community members benefit from financial assistance to cover the costs of their activities under one of the four pillars supported by the foundation:

Sports & Recreation

Arts & Culture

Education

Health & Well-Being

Golf Benefit

An annual event for everyone

Every year, the Christopher Wapachee Memorial Foundation organizes a benefit golf tournament. While the main objective is to raise funds, it's also a time to get together, enjoy a chat and have some fun. The profits generated by the tournament allow the foundation to provide for scholarships, educational resources, and mentorship programs to members of the Nemaska community.
